November 14, 2016

RICHARDSON, Texas (November 14, 2016) – Service King Collision Repair Centers is poised to welcome the next wave of apprentice technicians to its popular Apprentice Development Program this week. The industry-leader today announced 40 aspiring technicians are set to join the program Tuesday (Nov. 15) at ceremonies across the country. Highlighting the day is a group of 11 apprentices set to take part in a Signing Day celebration in Houston at UTI's campus. The events are scheduled for 8 a.m.

“The entire Service King Family is thrilled to welcome the next class of talented technicians to the Apprentice Development Program,” said Jeff McFadden, Service King President. “We are driven and passionate about investing in the next generation of repair technicians. This week is another exciting step forward in the ongoing positive impact this program brings to both our technicians and the industry as a whole."

Service King’s Apprentice Development Program launched in 2015 as a revolutionary training initiative aimed at equipping recently graduated technicians for successful careers at Service King. The program provides young technicians with unparalleled hands-on training with the industry’s most experienced technicians. Service King intentionally caps each 52-week class at four apprentices, all guided by a dedicated full-time supervisor in the form of an experienced Service King technician.

The immersive program aims to tackle the automotive industry’s declining population in skilled labor. In fact, between 2002-14, the automotive repair and maintenance field has witnessed a 13 percent drop in total employment. Through additional in-depth training with passionate supervisors, Service King looks to alleviate that trend.
