They moved Coachella back to its original April time slot this year, so there’s a good chance that you’re like Kanye West and missed it.
That’s why this round of the Service King Road Trip Giveaway might be music to your ears – because not only are we giving you a chance to win a $500 gas card by following and commenting on our post on Instagram, we’ve also planned out three other fun music festival trips that you can take this summer. And the best part? Service King will never be more than an hour away from each destination.
So call up all your festival friends, pack up everything you need for a three-day camping stay, and go check out these massive music meet-ups. We think each one could be even better than Coachella!
1) Electric Zoo
September 3-5, 2022 (Randall’s Island Park, New York)
3 Day GA (General Onsale)(18+) - $279.99
Considered to be New York’s largest and longest-running electronic music festival, Electric Zoo brings top international DJs and live acts from multiple countries to four different stages.
For three full days, Randall’s Island Park transforms into an electronic playground for this jammed packed festival, with stacked artists ranging from bass to techno and everything in between. And the 2022 Electric Zoo lineup doesn't hold back when it comes to heavy-hitters either, featuring the likes of Diplo, Armin van Buuren, Bijou, Afrojack and more.
Plus, the festival has a theme each year and this one promises to “take EDM fans on a cosmic musical journey beyond their wildest imaginations with 3.0, a gathering that embraces unexplained phenomena and will open music fans’ minds to new sounds and experiences.”
How To Get To The Show:
Once you make it to the city, you’ve got a couple different options. There are ferries at the intersection of East 35th Street and FDR Drive that run continuously back and forth from the festival starting at 2:30pm on Friday and at 12:30pm on Saturday and Sunday. If sea travel makes you sick, you can take the 4, 5 or 6 to the 125th St stop. From there, you hop on the X80 Express Bus, which travels straight to Randall’s Island Park.
What To Avoid:
The island is only so big and some people have complained about the sound bleeding into other performances. You should be able to avoid that by standing closer to the stage. Also, long lines happen anywhere there’s thousands of people, but the staff says you can make things move faster by pre-loading money onto your wristband before the festival.
Where To Stop Along The Way: The Quaint Town of Cold Spring
Perched on the Hudson River, this historic village is one of the most picturesque in the valley. Founded by European settlers in the early 18th century, today its central downtown is recognized on the National Register of Historic Places as the Cold Spring Historic District. Take the ferry to Bannerman Castle or explore the beauty of the Stonecrop gardens.

September 22-25, 2022 (Dover, DE)
3 Day GA (General Onsale)(All Ages) $329.99
Celebrating its 10th Anniversary this year, and only an hour away from Delaware’s best collision repair shop, the Firefly Music Festival is 105 acres of magical musical paradise that’s appropriate for all ages. In fact, children eight years old and younger get in General Admission for free!
From intimate treehouse stages, to silent discos, DJ Nests and even a roller rink, there’s literally something for everyone. And the musical selection is just as eclectic with a mix of all genres – from famous rockers My Chemical Romance and Weezer, to dance music veterans Zedd and Porter Robinson, rappers T-Pain and Big Sean, singers Halsey and Dua Lipa and more.
And the best part? This festival is made for camping. From the infield to right across from the festival entrance, to special zones created so you can set up in comfort, The Firefly Festival has up to ten areas where you can camp, glamp and even park an RV. And with constant patrolling by police officers and security guards, it might be one of the best festival camping experiences in the country. But don’t just take our word for it. See what others have had to say.
How To Get To The Show:
Most importantly – DO NOT TRUST YOUR GPS! The festival is at the Woodlands of Dover International Speedway, but many have said their GPS sent them the wrong way. Instead, on Delaware Route 1, take exit 95 toward DE-10/Camden/Dover. Then merge onto S Bay Road. In 1.2 miles, turn onto US-13N (North Dupont Hwy and continue on to Will Call, Camping Check-In or Day Parking. If you have a camping pass, directions should have been provided that will guide you to your specific spot.
What To Avoid:
With thousands of people in attendance, Firefly is known to attract pickpockets. To protect yourself, wear clothing that has enclosed pockets and keep your valuables close to you, like in your hand or front pocket. Many pickpockets often go for back pockets and backpacks since they’re out of your line of sight.
Where To Stop Along The Way: The Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge
If you’re big into birds, make sure you flock to Bombay Hook. It contains over 16,000 acres along the Atlantic flyway – the pathway of birds migrating between the Gulf of Mexico and Canada, creating a place that wildlife can rest, feed, and breed in peace. Walk, bike or drive over a 12 mile trail and use three observation decks to find all kinds of fowl, including herons, egrets, bald eagles, wood ducks and mallards.

Oct 14-16, 2022 (Austin, TX)
3 Day GA (General Onsale)(All Ages) (One Weekend) $320.00
They say everything is bigger in Texas, and that literally goes double for music festivals. That’s why the ACL Festival isn’t just one weekend, but two! Annually held in Zilker Park, this massive multi-genre festival covers nine stages and over 100+ performances.
Get a taste of every kind of act - from rockers Red Hot Chili Peppers and P!nk to Lil Nas X and more – and also enjoy some of the best bites in town as the ACL Eats Food Court at ACL Fest offers the most delicious festival food, drinks and sweets from Austin and the surrounding area’s favorite restaurants. As of this writing, the food line up for 2022 hasn’t been announced, but this Top 10 of 2021 is enough to get your taste buds tingling.
But it’s not all about music and munching - there’s plenty to do at ACL in between sets. Collect a ton of swag for various vendors, take a year’s worth of Instagram post pictures at all the iconic spaces, and whether you have kids or not, Kiddie Limits is back and pretty cool.
How To Get To The Show:
Getting to Austin is pretty easy, but don’t think you’ll drive all the way to the festival, because there’s no car parking at Zilker Park or in the surrounding neighborhoods. (Although you can find some for two-wheels.) Luckily you have a ton of other options, including jumping on one of the free shuttles at Republic Square Park, riding the Capital Metro buses, taking an old-school taxi or simply using a ride-sharing app.
What To Avoid:
ACL has been running in Austin for 18 years, and within that time festival goers have experienced a Texas-sized swing of weather conditions including a ton of rain. In fact, 2013 participants got downpoured on to the sum of over six inches, forcing them to cancel the entire first weekend. Even last year concert goers ran into rain delays. And while a little water can sometimes feel refreshing, it’s the mud that can make it unpleasant. So, make sure you’re prepared for when the ground gets a little soft.
Where To Stop Along The Way: The Comal River
It’s hot in Texas – even in October where highs average over 80 degrees. To cool off, bring your bathing suit to nearby New Braunfels and relaxingly ride the Comal River. These inner tube trips take a little over two hours, depending on water levels and if you paddle. Plus food (and alcohol) is legal, as long as it’s in non-disposable containers and packed in one 30 quart cooler or smaller per person.
Distance from Festival: About an hour
And of course after all that if you’re looking for an encore, we recommend you and your friends try…
